Emily McElwreath is an art advisor, independent curator, cultural strategist, and media founder with nearly two decades of experience across art and the creative industries. She is the founder of McElwreath Art Advisory and The Art Career, a cultural media platform combining long-form interviews, cultural reporting, behind-the-scenes access, and documentary-style storytelling.

Through The Art Career, McElwreath engages leading artists, critics, and cultural figures—including Jerry Saltz, Marilyn Minter, Mickalene Thomas, and Rachel Dratch—taking audiences inside their studios, homes, institutions, and communities to explore how creative lives and careers are built.

Her work spans art, media, cultural programming, education, and the market. She has developed public programs, organized panels, and lectured at institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Columbia University, NYU, and the Neuberger Museum of Art. As former Director of Communications and Education at The Brant Foundation, she led national educational initiatives and contributed to major exhibitions featuring artists such as Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, and Nate Lowman.

An independent curator and dealer, McElwreath fosters meaningful connections between artists, collectors, and institutions. She has curated exhibitions for galleries, nonprofit spaces, and art fairs, including Luminous Forms at the Ucross Foundation. She is also a frequent speaker and guest critic at institutions such as NYU (alongside Jerry Saltz), the Neuberger Museum of Art (with Marilyn Minter and Jasmine Wahi), Pratt Institute, the School of Visual Arts, the Wassaic Project, and NARS Foundation.
